Having a photo shoot hours or days after having your newborn baby means that you can capture them exactly as they looked when they first arrived into the world. In the haze of becoming a new parent, it's very easy to forget how your baby looked when they were so new. Babies change so quickly, even in the first few days of their arrival. It's also an opportunity to have beautiful photographs of you and your baby together, as well as with your partner and any older siblings. These moments will be amongst your most treasured memories and as such deserve more than a few snaps on your iPhone.
The very first hours of a new baby's life are some of the most extraordinary you can share as a family, and a moment that can be photographed sensitively and beautifully. Child birth is life-changing and emotional, it leaves an imprint on a woman and documenting it means that the memory doesn't have to fade; the photographs we capture will be a visual reminder that can be re-lived over and over. Capturing these early days is sometimes referred to as a Fresh-48 newborn photo shoot as it typically takes place within 48-hours of your baby's birth and can take place either in your hospital room or at your home.

Remember how it felt
frequently asked questions
At your photo shoot there won't be any posing of your new arrival or you. It is a pure documentary session that captures the moment in the most honest and organic way. This is not gritty photo-journalism however, my approach to photographing new babies is very gentle, I won't interfere but observe moments as they unfold so you can remember how it really felt at the time. Things you can expect me to capture along side natural photographs of your baby are cuddles with mummy and daddy, feeding and nappy changes etc. You can find out more about my at home sessions for new babies of all ages here.
"You made us feel so relaxed and comfortable - it was like you weren't even there but at the same time like we'd known you for years which just made us feel ourselves and really enjoy the precious moments with the boys."
