These little guys had so much fun at their photo shoot in Teddington’s Bushy Park that they asked me when I was going to start taking photos – just as we were wrapping the shoot up! Perhaps it was the silent shutter on my camera (meaning there’s no constant clicking sound) that helped them forget we were there to take photos. I’m sure it also helped that I encourage families ‘play to instead of pose’.

This shoot was very exciting for me as I had previously photographed these twin boys when they were just a few weeks old. You can see their newborn photo shoot here. It has to be one of my all-time favourites as the photographs from that session embody all that I love about capturing new family life in a relaxed and natural way.

Back to London’s Bushy Park which, even on a moody winter’s day, is a beautiful place for a family photo shoot. Having lived locally for almost 15 years Bushy Park has been the backdrop for so many of my own family’s memories. I love capturing children in nature when they can be wild and free. It was also special to photograph them with their beautiful mother who, like most mums, has very few photographs of her with her babies – just one of the reasons why I love to offer special Mini Motherhood Sessions. It was also lovely to be joined by the boys’ aunt who was visiting from her home overseas. What an adventure they all had that day!
