One of the main joys of being a newborn photographer is documenting families as they grow over the years. I first met this family three years ago for a photo shoot in Richmond Park with their baby girl who was about 5 months old at the time. It was a beautiful autumnal morning, if I remember correctly, albeit very windy!
I was so thrilled when the family got back in touch to tell me a new addition was on his way. It’s always a huge honour to be asked back to photograph these special milestones in a family’s life. As with all my newborn baby sessions, the photo shoot took place in the comfort of the family’s home so they could all relax and enjoy the time together with everything they needed for the new baby and big sister at hand.
Baby Oliver was just a few weeks old at the session which is a lovely age to capture. He was still a small, brand new baby but already was very alert with the most beautiful big blue eyes. His big sister had grown so much since I had last saw her and was totally adoring of her new baby brother. I followed both her and her brother’s lead to capture these relaxed and meaningful memories – special moments for them all to look back on as the years go by. It really was the most lovely morning and one that I will look back on very fondly as I was expecting my own baby boy at the time.
