After quite a hiatus in blogging about my photography I’m happy to say that I am back! When I last hit ‘publish’ in January 2018, I was 36 weeks pregnant with our long awaited second baby. That May, we welcomed a son into our family and life has been a whirlwind ever since.

I enjoyed an idyllic maternity leave and returned back to work the following winter. Since then, I’ve been balancing life as a mother of two with my other baby – Jess Morgan Photography. It was wonderful to be back seeing clients again and documenting their growing families. After so many years building my business it was great to have a break but I was equally happy to get back to work and what I call my ‘me time’.

One of my main priorities after returning was to re-design my photography website, something that became quite a labour of love in the end and also a job I now realise will never be completely finished. I finally launched the new site at the beginning of this year and I’m still working on creating new shoot guides to really enhance my clients’ experience.

Then at the beginning of 2020 came the another great pause, one that we had never expected – a global pandemic causing us all to hide away from each other. As the lockdown eases I am once again getting back to work. Initially shooting only outdoors with longer lenses, I am happy to say from July 4th I will be able to do a limited number of in-home sessions for new babies. I will follow all the guidance and social distancing measures to ensure everyone’s safety, and outdoor photo shoots are still an option, as they always have been, if that’s where you are happiest.

I am so excited to once again be back photographing love, connection and the un-scripted everyday moments that happen in between. Keep an eye on this space for client shoots and other bits and pieces baby and family related. In the meantime, I will leave you with a few favourites from my very own newborn photo shoot with the amazing Abigail Fahey. It was a dream come true to finally be in front of the camera, sharing my new joy.
